017-4
018-4
Sweeping eaves, an oval entrance and walls of brown brick, Confucius Temple is one of the most historic buildings in Taipei. Full of traditional Chinese sculptures and painting, the temple was built in 1875 by Mainland Chinese architects and carpenters, destroyed by the Japanese inthe early 1900s, and rebuilt from 1925-1939. Inside, you will see a semi-circular pond, providing good feng shui for the temple. A ceremony to honor Confucius is annually held here on September 28th. The temple's administration frequently holds academic discussions on Confucian study.
